Networking

The MS in Biotechnology program hosts an annual networking event for current students and alumni. 

Networking events in the Bay Area are extensive. Students are encouraged to engage the various organizations for networking.

Just a few of the organizations are below:


  • - The California Life Sciences Institute supports California’s innovation pipeline, comprised of students, educators, entrepreneurs, and scientists who are fueling the next generation of life sciences discovery to promote healthier lives around the world. 
  • - StartX is a trusted, founder-led community built on deep collaboration, shared experience, and long-term support. We take no equity and charge no fees. Instead, we invest in the potential of people and their ideas.
  • - An organization dedicated to all professionals in the Life Sciences industry within the San Francisco Bay Area and around the world. Membership is free and open to anyone in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device, Diagnostics, Healthcare, Life Science Tools, Medicine, and Laboratory Service industries.
  • - ACRP is the only non-profit organization solely dedicated to representing, supporting, and advocating for clinical research professionals.
  • Silicon Valley Innovation Challenge (SVIC) - SVIC mission is to cultivate entrepreneurs at San Jose State University and provide the necessary tools and guidance to enable students to take their innovative business ideas to the next level.
  • - The Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) is the largest global organization of professionals involved with regulatory and quality for healthcare products, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biologics, diagnostics, and digital health.
